Frequently Asked Questions
What is ADHD support and how can it help?
ADHD support provides strategies and guidance to manage symptoms like inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. It helps individuals understand their unique challenges, develop practical skills, and improve daily functioning in areas like work, relationships, and self-care.
How does ADHD support differ from general therapy?
ADHD support is specifically tailored to the challenges associated with ADHD. It focuses on practical skills, like time management, organisation, emotional regulation, and coping strategies that can be immediately applied to real-life situations.
Can ADHD support help with work and study challenges?
Yes, ADHD support can help individuals improve focus, reduce procrastination, and develop routines that make work and study more manageable. Support may include strategies for managing deadlines, improving concentration, and reducing distractions.
What techniques are used in ADHD support sessions?
Techniques may include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion regulation, organisational skills training, and deep self-reflection. These approaches are evidence-based and tailored to address the unique needs of individuals with ADHD.
How long does it take to see results from ADHD support?
The time frame for seeing results varies, but many clients experience improvements within 6–10 sessions. The focus on practical strategies often leads to noticeable changes in daily routines, productivity, and emotional well-being early on.
How often should ADHD support sessions be scheduled?
The frequency of sessions depends on individual needs and goals. Some may benefit from weekly support to build consistency, while others may prefer bi-weekly sessions to allow time to practice and apply new strategies.
Is ADHD support available online or in person?
ADHD support is available both online and in person, offering flexible options to suit your lifestyle and comfort. Whether you prefer the convenience of telehealth or the connection of face-to-face sessions, support is designed to be accessible.
