The frequency of sessions is tailored to your needs and preferences. We work with you to create a schedule that supports your therapeutic goals. As a guide, frequency is generally more regular at the beginning of therapy and less frequent as session progress.
What should I expect during my first therapy session?
During your first therapy session, you can expect the therapist to ask questions to understand your concerns and goals. They may also discuss the therapy process, confidentiality, and develop an initial treatment plan.
Can I receive therapy online?
Yes, Equal Psychology offers both in-person and online sessions to provide flexible support that fits your lifestyle.
How much does a session cost?
Sessions between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday to Friday, cost $220; outside these hours, they cost $250. Payment is processed through our secure platform at the end of your session.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Yes, if you have a valid Medicare card and a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you can claim a Medicare Rebate for up to 10 therapy sessions in a calendar year. For additional information on Better Access to Mental Health, click here.
Can I claim private health insurance?
Maybe, we recommend checking with your insurance provider. If eligible, we take full payment and provide a receipt for you to make the claim directly with your insurer.
