Alongside our sessions, we are building a small set of self-guided tools and courses you can use in your own time. They live at learn.equalpsychology.com.au and work on any device. There is nothing to download from an app store. You open them in your browser and, if you like, add them to your home screen.

Guided breathing
Free · Available now
A breathing guide you can set up your own way. Choose a pattern such as box or coherence breathing, or design a session that mixes up to three, then follow a visual guide, a soft tone or a recorded voice. You can save routines on your device, share them by link or QR code, and set a daily reminder if you want one.
Four short, self-paced courses for adults with ADHD, on sleep, stress, starting tasks and staying with them, presented by registered psychologist Matt Hallam. A planner brings together what each course sets up: your day in order, your tools and one short daily check-in.

What they are, and what they are not
These are general education and self-guided practice, made by Equal Psychology and reviewed by our psychologists. They are not therapy, treatment, diagnosis or crisis support, and they do not replace care from your GP or a psychologist.
You do not need to be one of our clients to use them. If you are seeing one of us, you are welcome to bring anything you try here into your sessions.
If you need support now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636. In an emergency, call 000.
Adding them to your home screen
Everything comes as one app. Open any of the tools from the link above, then follow the steps for your device. It then opens from its icon, full screen, like any other app. On an iPhone, phone reminders only work once it is on your home screen.
iPhone or iPadOpen the link in Safari. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up), scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
AndroidOpen the link in Chrome. Tap the menu (three dots), tap Add to home screen or Install app, then confirm.
ComputerUse it straight from your browser. Chrome and Edge also offer an install button in the address bar if you would like it in its own window.
The icon is a yellow square with the e from our logo, called Equal Psych on your home screen. Every tool and course sits inside it, and you only sign in for the ADHD companion.
Common questions
They are web apps. They run in your browser, so they work on almost any phone, tablet or computer, and there is no store download to keep up to date. Adding one to your home screen gives it an icon and lets it open on its own, like a store app.
Not for Guided breathing. The courses will ask you to sign in, with an emailed code or your Google or Microsoft account, so your purchase follows you to any device.
On your device. Your routines, logs and answers are saved in your browser and are not sent to us, so your psychologist cannot see them either. If you turn on reminders, we keep only what is needed to send them, such as the time and days you chose. Each tool explains exactly what it keeps, and our privacy policy has the detail.
Guided breathing is free. The ADHD companion will be paid, and its price, including GST, and refund terms will be shown before you buy. Courses are not covered by Medicare.
Guided breathing has a troubleshooting page in its menu for common things like sound and reminders. If that does not help, email us at admin@equalpsychology.com.au and tell us which tool, your device and what happened. Please do not send personal health information by email.
